What to know about this drive
- Temple darshan runs 06:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 21:00, with a firm closure in between. Entry and general darshan are free and there is no advance booking.
- Thursdays, weekends and holidays are much busier — an hour or two in the queue against twenty minutes on a quiet weekday morning. Tuesday or Wednesday around 11:00 is the shortest wait.
- The dress code is enforced for the inner sanctum: traditional dress, and western clothing is not permitted. Worth knowing before you leave rather than at the entrance.

What time should we leave Hyderabad for Mantralayam?
Either very early, around 04:00, to catch the morning darshan before the 14:00 closure, or later so you arrive for the 16:00 reopening. A 06:00 start lands you there in the middle of the closed window.
Do we need to book darshan in advance?
No. Entry and general darshan are free with no advance booking. What matters is the day and time — Thursdays and weekends are considerably busier.
